Pins and needles sensation upper left back- should I be worried ?

Hi all,

I have had a tingling/ numb feeling in my upper back on the left side below the shoulder blade for almost 2 days now. It did go away briefly but has been present for more than a day now and it's so annoying!
I also had brief twitching of my left bicep. I don't have any pain at all and it started on Wednesday when I sat on the sofa and had a sudden twinge in my back but it went away quickly.

Should I be worried ? My GP probably can't fit me in for 2 weeks!

Thanks in advance !

Sounds a bit like a trapped nerve. Have you carried a heavy bag or sat oddly? Can be niggly to get shot of (in my experience)

I have actually carried two heavy bags recently but I didn't feel anything at the time of carrying them. What happened with yours ? Has it gone?

It could be shingles. It could be referral from an irritated disc at the base of the neck. I would ice your lower neck, gently stretch and maybe be alert for a rash which would indicate shingles.

@moreismore There's no rash, but I'll keep an eye out. I'll try icing it, thank you!
