The last few days, I keep getting a burning, griping pain in the middle of my tummy, below the ribcage. Tonight, it's kept me awake all night. Also belching a lot and feeling full quickly when eating. And feeling sick a lot. As it's only a few days I don't want to bug the doctor yet. But what might this be? Some strange kind of tummy bug? TIA

Oh love, it could be your gall bladder, get it checked out ASAP the pain only gets worse.

SigningKidsUpOnline · 03/10/2019 04:48

Thanks for replying, @allthegoodusernameshavegone. I'll look up gallbladder. I'm so tired, but whenever I'm about to drop off I get more pain.
Thanks again

Sounds like GERD to me.

Thanks @TheMustressMhor. I think it's too low down for that? But does kind of fit in other ways

I've had exactly the same symptoms! But I'm not too bothered as I had this last year then eventually it went and I put it down to a stomach bug. As you say just see if it goes otherwise GP.

Since it will probably take you several weeks to get an appointment, I would make one anyway - then you can cancel it if you don't need it.

I have severe GERD and my pain (when I have it) is definitely where you describe it.

Medication has helped enormously to keep the symptoms under control.

But don't rely on the advice of strangers on the internet, obviously. If it gets worse and keeps you awake, definitely see your doctor.

You could get the advice of a pharmacist in the meantime.

Hope you're feeling better @Oldmum55.

My pain cleared up during the morning, so I have my digestive system a break all morning. Then I had a fairly small lunch, felt OK till 3 hours later, then the pain started again. Now it's back with a vengeance Confused

Hi @TheMustressMhor. Thanks for your post.
Sorry to hear you've had troubles, and glad treatment has helped.

Yes, if it's still happening in a day or two I'll make an appointment, then I can always cancel it.

Thanks SigningKids today much better and I've got my appetite back, but I've had this before it comes and goes before going all together that's why last year and this time, I put it down to a 'virus'.
