Ponstan and nurofen

Quick question !
I’ve a uti and have been prescribed ponstan.
I took two nurofen plus at 4pm, can I take ponstan? Or when can I take it? Im getting conflicting advice from google

Both are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and shouldn't be taken together. The best thing to do is ring an out of hours pharmacy and speak to the pharmacist as they will know best. I'm a nurse but mefenamic Acid (Ponstan) is not used much in my circle these days unless it's for heavy periods to lessen blood flow and ease cramps. I'd leave at least 6 hours between the two but just take one or the other. You can take paracetamol too though (two every 4-6 hours with a maximum of 8 in 24 hours).

If I take one ponstan at 10pm that should be ok? I was given ponstan as I am having period issues too so doc thought they might help, hopefully !

Yes, that should be fine. Take regular paracetamol too to keep on top of the pain and any fever. Hope you feel better soon
