I am very conscious of my weight and how vile i look in a swimming costume, to add to this i have a very large verruca so in order to protect others i will have to wear verruca socks when in pool on holiday. Really worried that people will point and laugh! but want to protect others. DD thinks it will be funny, i am worried i will not even get in pool but dh is a non swimmer so i need to be in pool. Please reassure me.

Don't worry, most people would not even now that is a verruca sock. They won't understand and forget about it. Besides... you won't know anyone there so, who cares what strangers think?

collision · 12/08/2007 10:16

No.

i would think, 'oh she has a verruca and is wearing a verruca sock. Thank goodness for that.'

Then I would wonder

'Why hasnt her DH gone in the water and given her a break!!'

Why are you so conscious of your weight? are you very big or just shy?

harleyd · 12/08/2007 10:16

you shouldnt give a damn what other people think. go and enjoy yourself with dd and have a great holiday and dont worry about others

prettypurpledaisy · 12/08/2007 10:18

No, I wouldn't give it a second thought.
Go for it, and have a lovely holiday!

collision · 12/08/2007 10:20

OK, give us a full description of you and where you are going and I promise we can help you look better in a swimsuit.

Go.................!

tortoise · 12/08/2007 10:22

I thought if it was being treated with bazooka stuff it was ok to swim? It forms a protective, waterproof barrier so should be no need for the socks!

prettypurpledaisy · 12/08/2007 10:24

5'8, 13 1/2 stone, dress size 16 (if i am lucky) over to you collision!

OK, not a problem.

I am thinking you should go for a spray tan and get a good hair cut before you go away and an easy to maintain manicure.

A good swimming costume which is underwired is a must. I am a size 14 with 36DD boobs and get mine from BHS and ASDA....cheap and cheerful. And lots of sarongs!! They cover up all the bits you dont want people to see and make you feel better.

Painted toe nails and flipflops and bazooka cream (as tortoise said it forms a waterproof cover!)

Sunglasses and lipgloss.....voila!!!!!!!!

prettypurpledaisy · 12/08/2007 10:34

thanks for that i feel better already! will book all of that next week and am sure dd will insist on all of it as well so will be expensive but as the advert says i'm worth it. Just seen some bright pink verruca socks on ebay so if they go with my costume may wear them! Thsnks for comments collision made me feel much better.

NO!!! DO NOT GET A MATCHING VERRUCA SOCK!!!!

collision · 12/08/2007 10:38

Ok, I am trying to help you here but we dont want to match the sock with the swimsuit.

We want to avoid the sock if possible and maybe go with the cream.

If you wear the sock it needs to look medical rather than 'trendy' IYSWIM!

Where are you going on holiday and how old is dd?

prettypurpledaisy · 12/08/2007 10:39

dd is 12 going on 30, we are only going to butlins for a midweek break not anywhere glamorous. So forget the luminous socks then got it!

OP posts:
collision · 12/08/2007 10:42

Well, if she is 12 you dont need to be in the pool and DH can do his bit to watch her while you look glam sitting in your shades and sarong not wearing the sock!!

Well done for forgetting about the luminous sock!!

Get thee to ASDA and have fun!!

collision · 12/08/2007 12:47

you gone to asda already?
