D&V since thursday, i still cant even keep water down........

should i be worried? ds & dh are both fine but ive been ill since thursday night, my stomach still hurts, still got diarreoha (sp) and every time i drink some water i end up retching. thought these things only lasted a day! not had it for this long before.

You poor thing, that's horrible. Have you been able to get any of the rehydration salts? (Name temporarily escapes me, taste like hell). Some of that is absorbed on the way to the stomach so even if you throw it back up again you will get some rehydration.

I think I'd call NHS Direct. That's a long time to not be able to keep down water. Hope you feel better soon.

have you got anything like dioralyte to keep you hydrated? I wouldn't worry too much unless the d and v get worse, but if yuo are not feeling any better by tomorrow then yuo should call yuor gp.

Poor you, definitely send Dh to get some rehydration sachets.

it can go on for a few days, but in your case you need to get hydrated asap. you will probably feel like a bus has hit you for another few days yet so get plenty of rest and fluids

spoken to the out of hours doc and she thinks its a viral infection but if im still ill tomorrow i have to go to see my own gp

Have you tried full fat coke?
Keep decantering it until all the fizz is gone, add some ice, then take tiny sips.
It always works for me,keeps your sugar levels up.

DD2 has had this this week lissie, though the worst did only last 24 hours - hers was on Friday and she is still weak and her stomach hurts.

I was going to suggest sipping flat coke too.

Hope it stops properly soon, it's a horrible bug.

havent tried it but will pop down to shop now. tbh im really hacked off with dh he went to play then watch football yesterday and he's done the same today so im ill with a hyperactive bored 2yo ds.
