Bleeding from bum

I got the start of my period last Saturday. Its coming to an end and easing off now. For days I was experiencing period poops - basically tummy cramps and poos. One of the days I was sitting on the toilet and there was absolutely nothing to come out but I still had the toilet push feeling. Another day I was constipated.

I notice this morning, after a poo, that I'm bleeding from my bum now. The cramps have somewhat eased by the way.

Is this serious. Do I need to go to the doctor.

You should see the doctor, but it may not be anything serious. If it's fresh blood and started after a bout of constipation, it may be piles, which are easily treated.

Just for peace of mind, go see your GP.

I have a doctors appointment booked for next week. The bleeding from the bum, its probably hemorrhoids. The only thing I have on hand is a nappy rash cream and that's helping soothe my bum.

I've been having tummy cramps for about 13 days now. It started two weekends ago. When it started I thought nothing of the cramps. I thought period is due and on the way. It was another week when the period arrived last Saturday. It was due last Saturday and arrived on the Saturday. Period is over now since yesterday but I'm still cramping in my tummy a lot. The cramping eases only after a poo. Its 4pm now and this is probably toilet trip number 10 of the day for me. Its crazy.

I am unbelievably stressed out with far too much on my plate and far too little time on my hands to make for myself. Work is intense and I'm experiencing harassment. Not at work but someone with an absolute axe to grind. So I don't know what it's all about. If it's stress related or something else.

When you say period poops (I've been there so I get it) could you have IBS? When DH gets stressed and run down he gets IBS which as well as tummy cramps and lots of poop also give him some bleeding and soreness. This tends to be because his bum is really sore and the skin is irritated including up in his rectum

I agree with blackcat that it sounds like possible IBS. I get this and it's always exacerbated by stress. Hopefully your doctor will be able to get to the root of the problem.

I never got these tummy issues investigated before so I have never been diagnosed with IBS but it could be a contender. I noticed before cold like cold weather would bring on tummy cramps. Even though say in winter I would be wearing a jacket but very cold and it goes through me and it hits my tummy resulting in cramps and toilet trips.

Feck, I have some buscopan at home, I didn't think of taking that at all thinking the cramps were period related. As soon as I finish work and get home I will take a tablet.
