I have developed an abscess near my armpit 
. I'm on antibiotics and doc said it should pop by itself and so shouldn't need surgery. It doesn't look ready to pop yet. She said apply hot compress to bring to a head. I tried a hot flannel but obvs it drips everywhere and goes cold really quickly so I've been using a hit water bottle with off the boil water so it's not red hot, just warm and applying over my top clothing....anyone git any better suggestions. Hiw often should u do it? Am also a little concerned what will happen when it pops. I'm going to order some saline solution to flush it with abd u have antiseptic wipes. Should u squeeze it or leave it to self drain? Yuk...makes me feel I'll thinking about it
