Basically after an incident with underarm waxing, I am left with raw, dark, itchy patches that constantly peel off/become very dry.

GP said they’ll give me a month supply of bactroban, suggesting that I need to use it for a month. It isn’t in stock at my pharmacy so they have ordered it in for me to collect. I have been researching online in the meantime and apparently you shouldn’t actually use it for a month (maximum 10 days) as one may develop resistance or as it is an antibacterial product, prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.

Should I follow the GP’s instructions to use it for a month or just 10 days?
