something else?

Monday morning woke up started shaking and felt sick, thought I was getting the flu, took 2 ibruprofen and was ok but still felt sick. Tuesday absolutely fine during the day, went to bed at 10 and started shivering, felt nauseous and kind of panicky 😱 the light hurt my eyes and my vision wasn't 100%. Went downstairs and I was shaking as though I had the flu, scared to go asleep as my head felt as though it was in a vice and lots of pressure and numbness. Vision again not 100%. Finally went to sleep then woke up feeling not too bad but still nauseous, this afternoon I'm finding it hard to focus, head feels fuzzy and strong feeling of nauseous.

I have lots of things to do and really hate being ill, young children to sort out but I feel shit! Anything bright still hurts my eyes.

If it is a migraine I can deal with that (at least I know). I have health anxiety so at the moment I'm thinking it's a brain tumour so it's making me worse.

Does this sound like a migraine? I just want this to pass 😰. My head isn't banging as such but just tight.

Thanks for reading.

No doesn't sound like a migraine, I'm a sufferer. Sounds more like a virus, but it could be anything, which is why you should pop to the GP to check you over. Do you have problems with your blood pressure?

Oh really? I was hoping it was just so at least I knew what it was.

Bit of background... I'm 45 and have a few perimenopause symptoms. Tried HRT few weeks back but only lasted 8 days before stopping the tablets on doctors advise due to severe anxiety. He prescribed Vagifem as sex is painful due to being dry. I've had 2 lots of this, the last tablet being Saturday. Side effects do say nausea and migraines but I didn't think I would react so quickly to them.

I'm feeling slightly better this afternoon but still a heavy head / eyes and bit sickly. If this carries on I will book a GP appointment, didn't want to go just for a migraine though x

The shivering would make me think it's a virus too. I haven't heard of shivering with migraine.

Migraines effect people differently, I yawn a lot, feel sick and have blurred vision and the worst headache. My dad vomits constantly and shakes but has no headache. My friend gets partial paralysis and usually ends up in hospital for a few days.
There’s no way to tell if it’s a migraine or a virus or whatever on an online forum though!

Sounds exactly like the minor bug (not influenza) that's doing the rounds at work.

Roselinemac · 18/09/2019 16:22

I couldn't hold a cup of tea last night I was shaking so much.

Mitzik I didn't know anything like this was going around, hope it passes soon.

I just feel as though I've got a bad hangover now, as though the worst has gone but it's still slightly there if you know what I mean.

Thanks for all your replies x
