Ringworm? Lyme Disease? Something else?

I noticed this in the bath earlier (sorry for the hairy leg ). It's not itchy or anything, though is a little raised. Does anybody know what it could be?

My first thought was Lyme disease - I was walking in the woods last weekend. And I have felt completely shattered, and a bit achey today for no real reason. But there's no bullseye in the middle.

So I googled a bit, and thought possibly ringworm? But it's not itchy. My DD has kept itching her legs over the past few days - was going to take her to the pharmacist if it carries on, but I've just checked all over her body and there's no marks/ rashes or anything.

Anybody have any ideas? It'll be difficult for me to get to a pharmacist/ doctor until Wednesday, but I will if it's anything worrying. 🤔

It certainly looks like ring worm to me, although it does normally itch.

I just looked at that photo and thought maybe there is a mark in the middle. Looked again on my leg and I think I can see a v v faint black line kind of mark in the middle. This isn't a tick, is it? Is that how they look? 🤢

Looks like ring worm... I had it when I was a teenager. I don't remember it being particularly itchy either.

Never thought I'd be saying phew to ringworm, but I'd definitely prefer that to an embedded tick deep down in the skin.

Could my DD have it, even without a rash? Weird she's so itchy too. She's started school this week, so I imagine these sorts of stuff will become pretty normal to us. Joy!

Not a tick. Ticks hang on and look like you’ve stuck a tiny brown grape to your skin.

We unfortunately have experience with Lyme disease and I wouldn’t rule it out- not all cases get the rash but it is very helpful when they do as it is otherwise often missed. The feeling shattered would add up to.

Were you walking in an area where could have been exposed to ticks ? They are nasty things and I would get checked as time is very important in treating it if it ever is. Keep us posted and I hope all is well

I wouldn't rule out psoriasis. When I had my 1st flare up I only had 1 patch on my arm that looked exactly like OP pic. Especially as your feeling a bit run down.

Country girl, I used to get it all the time.
It’s itchy as all fuck and animals scratch it by rubbing against fence posts etc. You can get it by brushing against the fence post.

I managed to get it on my tit once. No idea how.

To those saying not a tick they are sometimes missed and drop off. I know first hand but hopefully it isn’t the case here

It's not a tick. You'd notice a tick on your skin, and btw, it would need to be there for 24 hours at least.

I'm not sure. Everything online says to see your doctor if you have been to a place where ticks are known to frequent. But how would I find that out? I'm in the south east, and me and DD go for walks through the woods almost every week.

I had ringworm on my hand and put Caneston on it and it went, you do have to keep applying it though to make sure it all goes, so it probably wouldn’t hurt to get some and put it on and see if it fades

I hope it's ringworm (though I don't know why they picked such a gross name if it has nothing to do with worms).

Ticks are usually in places where deer and sheep are, they hide in ferns, there is a tick map online where they most likely are

Lyme will get bigger and not fade quick is my understanding

Ringworm - it's a fungal thing, no worms, so you just keep applying antifungal cream to it until it's gone and then some!

Can get it from pets or from swimming pool etc

I caught it from a kid who had it at school. It's quite infectious!

I know most of you are saying ringworm, but I'm a panicker. And it seems weird that I'm not at all itchy. I think I'll just have to make the time to go to the pharmacy tomorrow.

Granuloma annular!! I've had it exactly like that on my foot. Copious googling later ruled out ringworm and Lyme disease (lack of itching being key.) GP confirmed. Ask yours to check it out.

Probably best to go if that tick area is where you were. Pityriasis Rosea which develops into a harmless slightly itch rash also starts with a patch like that

Interesting how many conditions start with/ cause a round mark like this.

I'll go to the pharmacy this weekend and will let you all know what he says.

What's the diagnosis OP?

If you are even slightly worried you have Lymes, go see your Dr. It’s far easily treatable in the early stages than if it’s ignored.
