Lump on hard palate

I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and can shed any light on this for me. I recently went to the dentists because I have a hard lump on the hard palate on the roof of my mouth. It doesn't move and it isn't painful. It has been there for a couple of months (well that's how long ago I first noticed it, anyway). Upon inspection at the dentists, he found an ulcer type sore on it as well and so has referred me on to a maxillofacial specialist at the hospital. There were mentions of biopsies and "ruling out anything sinister".

In my logical head I know that it is probably absolutely nothing, but then there is always that little niggle as the back of your mind...

I have had a sore throat for few weeks and I have a loose tooth towards the front of my mouth which we initially thought was because I have gum disease but now I'm not so sure.

Has anyone been in a similar situation, and if so what was the outcome?

Hi @WeMustGetOfftheMountain , I know it has been a little while since you posted, but wondered if you have had your appointment yet and would mind sharing how it went? I’m in a similar situation and have been referred by my GP who didn’t know what is was, but said it ought to be checked out. I’m trying not to consult doctor Google (I know, I know!), but finding it very hard not to worry in the meantime...
