Chest x-ray - results

Hi,

I lost my original thread, so I apologise for creating a new one. I went to the GP yesterday and was asked to have a chest x-ray. I was told to contact my GP after about a week, which I believe is standard procedure if the x-ray is not requested as urgent.

However, if anything abnormal is found, would the GP contact me before I make an appointment to discuss the results? Also, I do tend to worry a bit, so could I phone the GP before the week or would the results not be available?

Thanks

Just do what you’ve been told to do. If there’s an issue that they consider to be more urgent then they’ll definitely contact you. And try not to worry Flowers

Unless you're on 2WW, it's generally a 7-10 day wait.

No one is withholding information, it may just not be available yet.

Your GP maybe able to get a radiologist thread the X-ray via a phone call, but it might be hard to find someone to do that.

The Wait is the hardest part. Sorry, I know it is...😥

Thank you. I will update this thread when I get the results.
