Strange mole/seborrheic keratosis??

Hi all Grin
So for 3 months now I noticed this 'mole' on my back, it was when I was scratching my back and knocked a scab of and it bleed, my partner looked and said was a light brown mole was on the edge of it. I cant say I've ever paid much attention but my partner said it's always felt rough like he's always been careful worried he would catch it.
I panicked like mad and went of to doctors, who said straight away its 100% benign it's a seborrheic keratosis. I've caught it quiet a few times since and it never really completely feels smooth again always feels rough and scabby, the last time I caught it it was quiet bad and became inflamed now it's turned like a light pink colour not brown. Its quiet small. I've been back twice to docs they keep saying it's fine, they have agreed to remove it next week as I requested. It's about 6mm and just above back of bra strap.

Has anybody else had a seborrheic keratosis? Do they always feel rough and look scabby? I'm just petrified its sc 😭 I'm not looking for medical advice just experiences

P.S first picture is when I first caught it, most recent one is the second one, but after I'd caught it a few times

I had one removed last year with liquid nitrogen. Have a couple more now but they're small. They're not the nicest looking thing - I had scraped a layer off mine as it was quite dark - the dark stuff, like bits of scab - came off easily. 🤢

Drum2018 yes there not are they, did urs feel crusty when you scraped them? I've got another one near it that's smaller and a few on my boobs since I had my son too

I've got lots of them, OP, but I am 72, and they tend to develop with age (senile warts!!) They are a bit scabby looking, and rather crusty, I have them on my shoulders, back and under boobs - they seem to appear where clothing rubs. Absolutely nothing to worry about! My late mother had them too, so I do wonder whether there is a hereditary factor.

@nanthewiser really thats alot! When did you first notice them? I'm 31 but some of them seem to have appeared with my last very recent baby, I do have health anxiety a little, but you google scabby feeling rough 'mole' and it's always bad things you see. My doctors keep saying there fine etc they said they would freeze the one that's got quiet bad so I cant get anxious lol 🤦🏻‍♀️

I can't really remember @eatmyshorts89. Probably about 40. I did ask my GP years ago, about removing a particularly itchy one on my back, but the surgery had stopped doing this procedure by then. I remember my mother had one right on her lower eyelid, which, due to its position, was removed at her local hospital.
Please don't get anxious about it! As we get older we get all sorts of weird skin blemishes, which are perfectly harmless!

I have one almost the same. Dr froze it off a few years ago, but it’s grown back. Try not to worry.

Thankyou so much for all your supporting words you've really made me feel better!! Yea im sure my mum's got one on her back think it's been there a while it looks like the really serve black crusty ones so guessing it's inheritary

Yes, it was crusty. The gp had described it as growing out the way and when I looked as close as I could I could see the raised crusty bits and tried scraping a bit - when it came off I just scraped the rest. Pretty gross. Mine was very faint but got dark through my last pregnancy - I thought it might be hormones changing it at the time. My sister and a friend both have them too and they do come with age - the joys!

ime yes seborrheic keratosis always turn rough & scabby.

Skin doctors tv show... channel 5? had a lady with like 8 of them the other night. One on her face was especially ugly & large & she had had it for 10 yrs (she was a performer!).

@ragged oh god didn't it bleed? If I pick it to much it bleeds lol plus it's on my back at a hard to reach place 😫

They only bleed when fresh & young. Old crusty ones just come off like a scab. I had one on my back that was especially gnarley; I couldn't reach that one but it went away by self, too.

How long did it take to grow back? I had something similar which fell off and has now grown back, is it normal for them to grow back?
