i fell over on a bridal path a week and 3 days ago now.
It bloody hurt i cut my foot at the front on the joint of my foot to leg the cut was about a 1/4 of an inch deep but i cleaned it up and dressed it, 3 days later i went to a&e as i couldn't get a doctors appointment and my foot swelled a lot and looked bruised.
A&e gave me antibiotics for infection,
I've been taking them for a week now and the cut still looks horrible, it's not healed over all the skin around is dry and tight from my foot stretching to try and heal it, its still red around and most importantly the actual cut just feels like it's full on burning!
My partner joked that i'm going to have my foot amputated but i'm genuinely worried now i'm going to make a doctors appt in the morning but i'm wondering what they can do if i've already had antibiotics and they haven't worked.

Foot wounds are a pain (literally!) to heal. Did they originally debride the wound/give you stitches at A&E? Is there a chance that there could still be some debris inside the wound that's preventing it from healing? If it's burning and you're in pain I'd go back to A&E to get it checked out again.

Sometimes if one lot of antibiotics don't work, they may try a different type or a stronger/longer course to get it to heal - I had this with a biopsy that got infected and had to double the dose. The biopsy healed as an open wound - took three weeks to close up as it was healing from the inside out, if that makes sense. Hope you feel better soon.

no they didn't give me stitches i rang 111 and they said it should be fine with just cleaning and dressing regularly and a&e didn't mention stitching.
yes that's what mines doing i think! it could have some dirt still inside but i don't know how to get inside it because its quite scabby but at the same time fleshy and still a small amount of red gooey blood goes onto every dressing.
I think i'll get into the doctors in the morning and see what they say thanks

Can you get a picture?

Has the redness around it got worse? What colour is the loss from it - bloody and straw coloured or more yellow/green? How do you feel in yourself?

I'd watch for cellulitis, glad you've got more antibiotics. Hope it gets better soon.
