OK, so as a family, we now have two cases of molloscum (on face) and one case of verruca (on foot - obviously).

What's the best remedy/cream/lotion/potion for effective and quick treatment??

Older dc had molloscum for about 2 yrs, but wasn't so bad as not on face. DP had verucca before - took 4 years to go! Don't want to play the waiting game this time, so any magic cures???

Just want to share how I got rid of numerous molluscum growths on my son. I used condylox gel and it worked on the smaller ones but it didn't shrink the larger ones. I read on a UK online site (I'm from the US) about the "prick and paint" method where mothers are "popping" (I know it sounds gross and I'll address the infectious issue in a minute) and painting (with iodine). I started to do one or two a day. Re: the infectious core of the bumps- wear latex gloves and toss them in the garbage and liberally swab the area with alcohol. Clean your fingers with alcohol with a separate swab. I used alchohol instead due to its antiseptic properties and no one really uses iodine anymore (plus it makes big stains). I am telling you that they all disappeared! Granted, popping and alcohol on a face is probably not so good. My son had his on his chest and back. My sister was horrified because her dr. told her not to even touch these things. They basically do the same thing at the derm. office really -- use a tool to remove the core. When they tried this on my son before (one one or two of them) I tried my method, it was more invasive. My son freaked out, it hurt and bled alot, and it left a visible scar. ONE MORE THING THAT HELPS. A pediatric nurse tipped me off that her daughter went swimming in the ocean for a day and hers disappeared. In the middle of employing my method, I happened to be on vacation and urged him to swim as much as possible. I am convinced that the "pop and prick" and the ocean water got rid of these things. HE HAD 40 of them and NOW HE HAS NONE. The derm. refuses to believe that any of this helped. HA! Of course! They want to bill my insurance for every single one they removed electronically I am sure. I came home from vacation with two gallon jugs of sea water in case they reappear. Good luck!
