Scared about breast pain and itching?

I’ve had an itch on the side of my breast for a while now. Doctor seemed to think it was maybe some kind of nerve issue but he didn’t seem to be too concerned. The breast itself sometimes feel very heavy and tender. I’ve scared myself with things like inflammatory breast cancer.
Has anyone had anything similar and it didn’t turn out to be anything bad?

If you are worried please go back to your GP and request a referal to a consultant. If you are UK based they will see you in under 2 weeks if you meet specific criteria. You know your body better than anyone, at the very least request a mammogram.

Avoid Dr Google - you'll be convinced you've got all sorts wrong.

Are you having periods OP, and if so do you notice any change to the itching during your cycle? I get massively itchy boobs at particular times. And I’ve had breast cancer so am hyper vigilant.

I had similar, and with both my DM and DGM dying from breast cancer went straight to the Dr.

Within 5 days I was being seen at the Breast Unit at Salisbury District Hospital, they were absolutely fantastic. Never been treated better. Calmed my nerves, talked me through it all.

I was fine, the itchiness was just dermatological. The heaviness was the heat and the worry.

Please please go straight to the Dr tomorrow. When you phone got an appointment, make sure you tell the receptionist why you need the appointment xx good luck

@CollaterlieSistersSister Sorry to hear that you’ve had breast cancer. I take the pill and it does seem to get worse in the lead up to my period and then again when I start the new pack.
Thank you all for your replies. I went to see my GP today and she’s really put my mind at ease. She did a thorough exam and said there was nothing at all she could see or feel of concern (even pointed out a mole so she was really paying attention)
She said it’s odd that the pain is only in one breast. But has put me on a lower dose pill to see if it helps and she wants me to go back in a month. She said there was nothing at all she could see that would concern her to refer me.
