Insect bite? Spot? Something else?

I've developed this bright red lump on the end of my nose. I look like Rudolph! It's a bit tender and throbs a bit too. Any ideas, anyone? (I am mortified, I have to go out today) Google just wants to tell me it's skin cancer (unhelpful). I just want it to go away.

It's probably an insect bite there's loads of mosquitoes and midges around at the mo, I've got loads of the itchy throbbing bastard lumps diving me mad, skin cancer doesn't suddenly appear. If you have some witch hazel or calamine lotion that will help it should go in a couple of days.

Yeah I've put witch Hazel on. Am off to the pharmacy to see if there's anything else I can do. Thanks rosie39forever. (it's OK I didn't think it was cancer)
