Cervical polyp removal - recovery (tmi?)

Constantsarechanging · 23/08/2019 21:27

Hi all,

I had a polyp removed on Tuesday at a colposcopy clinic.. I was advised I'd probably have some dark discharge for a few days and to take it easy.. this did happen as described for two days.

Now having proper red blood * and quite sharp pains.. has anyone had this? Should I expect it to last longer and as such plan more down time?

*not my period

Thanks..

Sorry can't be much help on your query
Just following because I have been diagnosed with similar and advised my GP will remove in surgery
I have just scheduled a ten minute appointment during my working day
Hmmm I suspect the nurse who found it at smear has seriously underplayed what is involved.
Certainly mine bled for several days - bright red after smear test agitated it...
I would dose up on painkiller and take it easy medical advice if doesn't settle in 48 hours.

Thanks.

I think it's hard to gauge how recovery will be as the placement, size etc likely won't be the same.

Mine wasn't spotted at smear as it was so high up.

Hope your procedure goes well, stock up on pads and painkillers just in case.
