Stomach ache for weeks

I've been having a stomach pains for a few weeks. Feels like hunger pains but alot worse. I went to the doctor and he put me on omeprazole. This didn't work so he changed me to lanzaprazole (1 tablet twice a day for 2 weeks). I'm now a week through these and still feeling horrid.

I suggested the test for heliobactor (sp?) But he said as I'd tested negative for that a number of years ago it was unlikely I had that.

Referred for a camera into stomach but at a loss at what else this could be if the PPIs aren't working.

Feeling sorry for myself as I've fun stuff planned for this month.. holidays birthdays etc. So just a bit fed up!

Any advice or previous experiences would be appreciated 😊

You need to give those tablets more than a week to work. You might only start getting relief after 2 weeks or more. I am on omeprazole all the time and when starting the tablets a week wasn't enough time for to stop it hurting. I had the camera too but it just came back with nothing really except some 'inflammation'. The docs explained that the amount of pain felt isn't in proportion to the problem in the stomach.
Hopefully you will see a reduction in the pain in the next couple of weeks. The nature of the pain is that it comes and goes, more if stomach is empty. Stress is also a factor in mine, best of luck with it.

Ahh thank you. I'm never very patient with these things but good to know I need to give it more time x

Or try OTC ranatidine - is brilliant!
