Hi ladies, so a bit of an embarrassing one, so thought the name change was relevant Grin

So today I've found a cluster of white head looking spots on one of my areolas and thought that since it's nothing I've ever had or experienced, you wise ladies of mumsnet could give me some sort of opinion or information on whether this is normal. Grin

Are they not Montgomery glands OP?

wigglybeezer · 13/08/2019 19:33

Look up Montgomery's tubercles.

I have these. Since starting breastfeeding ds, I have noticed that milk comes out of them. Blush it's a bit odd.

Whatsonmynipple · 13/08/2019 19:35

God, never heard of them before so I'm off to Google now, but thank you for the speedy replies

@Stormwhale I think I read somewhere they excrete stuff that smells like amniotic fluid to help the baby find it's way to the nipple. You can squeeze them to release it and it comes out quite easily (and very satisfyingly Wink)

So it does look like montgomery glands, reading a lot that it's usually related to pregnancy and breastfeeding, but neither of these apply to me, I'm on the implant so I'm sure I'm not pregnant, can these occur without being pregnant or breastfeeding?

Feel a bit silly since I've never heard of these and it seems quite common

I have these and always have had them. I thought they were normal. They’re just little white dots, no heads on them, does that sound like yours?

Same for me , I’m not preg but have a few around my nipple on the aerola . I think they are those milk duct things but I’m not preg so worried
