Not sure what your question is? Do you mean your sister is having a blood test for hypoglycaemia but doesn’t know why?

princessTiasmum · 10/08/2019 23:42

bellinique i am as wise as you, she just she had to have a test for hypo i know, it doesn't make sense,
I think she has missed half of the word, it has been suggested it would be for hypothyroid,
My sister never asks why she is having tests or what they mean, i will ring her in the morning and see if i can jog her memory

If it’s just a normal blood test with the GP then thyroid sounds the most likely ‘hypo’ which might be being checked. Hypo just means low though so it’s hard to say!

Hypo means low so it will be a hypo-something- blood test. We need to know what the something is.

I do find it concerning that your sister doesn't know what she is being tested for and why... it seems wrong to me to agree to a test without realising why.

Crastonmanor i spoke to her this morning and asked her if she had misheard, but she said no the nurse rang her and said come in on tuesday so we can do a hyper,or hypo blood test, she only had a blood test last week and will get the result of that on tuesday,
It sounds to me as if something in her blood test isn't right so maybe retesting ,
That i'm afraid is what she is like,if it was me i would want to know why and what it meant etc,she is like that with everything
Different subject, but i have tried to get her to have a water meter as she is on her own, change fuel suppliers etc but no, because the neighbours say it's more expensive
Some people are just set in their ways and wont be helped, she is 2 years younger than me, but you would think she was older
I will update when i know what her blood test is forr

Is it HbA1c? That’s a diabetic blood test?

princessTiasmum · 11/08/2019 19:06

She could have misheard but it doesn't sound like that i think
She frustrates me sometimes ,because she doesn't look into things, even when it is costing her money, but it's her business not mine i suppose,i just try to help

Well i think the mystery is solved,i think it probably was for hypertension
I am assuming that is blood pressure
She said the nurse wanted to check her blood pressure again, even though it was taken the day before, and said they blood were ok didn't apparently say why, except had she been feeling dizzy
My sister is on 2 lots of blood pressure tablets
