sore teeth or an ear infection?

Ds (6 months old) has 2 shiny new teeth in front! But along with them has come fussiness at the bottle and at feeding. When he has a bottle or food, he appears to wince first, then eat. I am also resorting to feeding him lying down, which I know you shouldn't do, but it's the only way he'll take his bottle sometimes.
He is also pulling at his ear. He has eczema, so behind his ears does itch anyway, but this is definitely pulling.
In himself he isn't grouchy, and doesnt have a fever.
So, is it likely to be tooth pain, or should I get his ears checked out?

I think its tooth pain. Quite a lot of babies pull their ears when they are teething. I know that when my wisdom teeth try and grow they give me terrible ear ache and sore throat.

So is it normal for his teeth to hurt when they are already partly emerged? Most things I have read say the worst pain is as they break through, but I know my wisdom teeth hurt even when they are already part way through...

There is nothing to say there aren't some others following behind or moving around.
