Dh dropped ds (9 months) onto a wooden floor from holding him at his shoulder level - ds is a real wriggler and somehow managed to jump. Poor ds landed on the back of his head and we rushed to casualty. horrible first hour where he went from screaming to floppy. Luckily after about 4 hours and painkillers he was back to his lively self. Trying not to be angry with dh - it was an accident. If you were in Mothercare today in watford at around midday you will have witnessed it all

oh no grommit, r u okay? i was actually in mothercare this afternoon. how awful.

when dd was about 6 months old, she rolled off my brothers bed and landed on the back of her head on their hard floor. scared me half to death as she wouldnt stop crying but only because i was so upset. its such a horrible thing to go through, but i think most of us go through it at least once

WideWebWitch · 19/09/2004 19:31

Omg, poor you grommit, glad your ds is ok.

NomDePlume · 19/09/2004 19:42

Poor you Grommit. DH told me the story of his Mum holding DS1 who was a couple of months old at the time. He 'leapt' out of her arms and fell onto the floor via the glass coffee table ! Apparently he had a bust lip and blood on his face, poor MIL was devastated....

Sounds like your DS is recovering well. Big hugs from me.

Angeliz · 19/09/2004 19:42

Oh Grommit, glad he's o.k!

Try to forgive dh, it happens to the best of us!
(I remember being on the phone to my mam once in the kiitchen in open plan house, i saw dd roll off the settee at the same time i saw dp FLY across the room with jeans round ankles to catch her .(he was getting dressed), he missed

Glad there's no harm done++

mckenzie · 19/09/2004 19:58

so sorry to hear that Grommit but glad that your DS has survived unscathed. Try to go easy on DH. I bet he's feeling pretty awful about it as it is huh, inwardly at least though he might be doing the macho thing on the outside.

Is that your first time at casulaty with your DS? If it is and he's 9 months already i think you've done rather well.

Grommit · 20/09/2004 06:25

Thanks everyone - getting over the shock now - ds slept solidly last night from 7pm to 5am and seems bright this morning. First time he has had an accident but I hear that I should expect many more!
