My baby has vertical ridges on his nails, on one hand only. Anyone know what causes it? Can't find anything on google about babies.

"Other possible causes of fingernail and toenail ridges are systemic. Examples include iron-deficiency anemia, psoriasis and alopecia areata, a condition that causes hair to fall out in rounded patches. Iron-deficiency anemia is most common in babies 9 to 24 months of age, according to Medline Plus, and an iron-deficiency screening is recommended within that age range."

It might be wise to get this checked by your baby's doctor.

We have a pediatric appointment next Tuesday, so will mention it to them whilst there. He is 6 months old, so only just starting weaning.

Hi there! My 6 month old baby has the same exact thing on one hand. What did your doctor say about it? I’m stressing out!
