Statins - Weight Gain?

I've been on steroids for a cardiac issue for just over a year and I've put on just over a stone. I'm not eating more or exercising less. I'm finding it really difficult to lose. The doctor changed me to another type of steroid but it hasn't helped.
Has this happened to any one else?
I'm 63, 5ft 5.

I was about to say it's a well known effect of anti-inflammatory steroids.

Weight gain is a listed side-effect of atorvastatin. Which statin are you on? Are you on any other medications?

Thanks for the reply. HQ have kindly changed the title from steroids to statins!
I was on Avorstatin but as well as the weight gain I was also have weird dreams and bad muscle fatigue. GP changed me to Simvastin and the dreams and fatigue have stopped. I'm also taking a soluble aspirin every day.
