No real experince (to the extent you are describing) but I often skip meals when I am busy. I also find it is a vicious cirlce as if I skip breakfast I can easily skip lunch as I simply don't feel hungry (almost as if I haven't "woken" up my appetite), and can go right through until my evening meal with dh at a bout 8pm (I AM NOT ADVISING THIS IN THE SLIGHTEST).

If you haven't got much of an appetite, try something like smoothies at breakfast and lunch. I bung in a load of different fruit, always include a banana, one of those prebiotic yoghurt drinks (actimel or such like) and a handful of rolled oats and blitz. I find it much easier to have effectively a drink meal rather than "solids" if I don't feel like eating.

I get a bit like this when stressed (at present I want to eat ratatouille, and that's about it). Can you try to always sit down to eat something with the kids? And try to have easy tempting things in.

Smoothies are easier to eat.

I don't have weight issues, could probably do with losing a few pounds, but it's still unsettling to lose weight by accident. (I generally make up a big tub of gazpatcho, which is a cold tomatoey soup, and have a cup of that whenever - no work to serve it to myself, so it's easy to do.)

I sometimes have a poor appetite.

I find little and often is best when I need to get myself eating properly again. Agree that banana milkshake/smoothie is a good idea, also peanut butter on toast.
