Anyone else down with a bug?

Started with a migraine Sunday eve, was sick before going to bed.

Haven't felt right since, nausous and an upset stomach, a general feeling of illness and lethargy. No energy to do anything.

Now a dull ache in my chest as of yesterday and more nausea

DH thinks it's heat stroke but I've barely left the house because I feel so rough so haven't been exposed to the sun much at all.

Heat related or a bug doing the rounds?

Could be either - just what you do not need in this weather

I have had bronchitis for the last few days with a temp - and this hot weather on top!

The weather certainly doesn’t help. I’ve been getting an upset tum & just keep wanting to sleep but it’s on & off so not sure it’s a bug. Will be very glad when this awful humidity lessens. Hope you feel better soon OP

This weather is paradise for germs and nasties, luckily the children are fine so far.

Whatever this is needs to bugger off I've got things I need to be doing this weekend

I think it can be heatstroke without the sun. With sun, I think it's called sunstroke?

That's interesting, I actually didn't know somebody could be affected without being outside in the sun. This place is a heat trap and I've struggled to keep the temp down indoors so that could possibly be the cause and if not then it's definitely contributing

I had a bug like that a few weeks ago, headache, then sick, then nausea and tired, took about 3 weeks to get over it.

I have something similar, can’t seem to to shake it off for weeks now.

Headache, breathing problems and feeling generally off.

Last thing I need in this bastardng heat.

It could be either. As a pp suggested heatstroke is related to temperature and not necessarily caused by being in the sun.

Anything that raises your body temperature too high for too long could cause heat exhaustion which if not brought under control quickly enough will turn into heatstroke.

If you’re not keeping fluids down then you could become severely dehydrated.

The NHS advice for suspected heatstroke is to get it under control within 30 minutes or it’s a medical emergency.

I think maybe you should call 111, or perhaps look up the information on the NHS website at least.

Gosh op, the heaviness in your chest does sound like a serious symptom.

I don’t wish to alarm you but please get checked out as heatstroke left untreated can lead to organ failure.

I've got 2 under 2 here and dad's at work so could do without having to sit around in A&E.

I've been taking my temperature and strangely enough it's fine, I haven't had any episodes of over heating per say either. I'm keeping myself hydrated too.

I was surprised when DH said he suspected heat stroke as I was convinced it was a virus, it began before the weather got too warm.

Might be worth noting I had sepsis in April so my immune system is shot to pieces and I've been picking up anything and everything since then.

I've only been sick twice since Sunday, so I have the sea sick kind of nausea moreso than actually throwing up. Urine colour is fine and all liquids are being kept down.

If your temperature is fine and you’re hydrated it’s probably not heatstroke then.

Felt increasingly unwell as the day progressed and the chest ache/pain hasn't gone away so I phoned 111 which is protocol for getting an OOH GP appointment and when I mentioned chest pain the operator said she was dispatching an ambulance.

I'm sat here worrying now but moreso feeling like I'm wasting their time, I only wanted an OOH appointment not an emergency response.

I started with really bizarre symptoms yesterday - I keep having a sort of ‘rushing’ from my torso up to my head, dizziness, excessive fatigue and one instance of being sick though a touch of diarrhoea (sorry). I am utterly miserable

I'm currently sat waiting for an ambulance I didn't want in the first place, feeling embarrassed and like a massive inconvenience.

Knowing my luck it will arrive when DH is getting home from work and he'll panic.

Oh god all I wanted was to see an OOH GP.

I'm almost sure whatever this is, is a virus of some sort, so there's nothing paramedics will be able to do anyway

I have seen the call centre order ambulances quite often, my MIL had one called and was mortified...A&E said it happened a lot to her. I’m pretty sure they are just law suit averse and you are not seriously ill... I hope not anyway!!

I've had this or similar for the last ten days or so. I now have a chest infection - saw the GP today and was given antibiotics. Keep an eye on it because it's only got worse for me.

I'm starting to suspect chest infection too @mistermagpie it's definitely getting worse

The paramedics have been lovely, they did an ECG in the ambulance and took my obs which are fine. They said protocol with chest pain is hospital but I can refuse if I don't want to go, which I don't. They said they're satisfied that I'm not dangerously ill.

I've had problem after problem since having sepsis in April, my immune system is wrecked.

They're ringing back 111 to say I've refused hospital (which they're fine with) and to see if a GP can come to me instead and prescribe antiBs if nessecary, which is more in line with what I wanted in the first place.

I've got 2 babies at home and can't juggle sitting in the hospital for hours on end
