Is this a tick bite?

Was a red itchy bite when I woke up on Thursday. Yesterday noticed a brownish arch around one side. Doesn't look like a typical bulls eye tick rash. I feel fine and the actual red bite is fading. Do I just leave it or am I supposed to get it checked?

I would get it checked, it’s edging into bulls eye territory. GP will probably give you some antibiotics.

Thanks for replying. I went to my local pharmacy and 2 pharmacists had a look. They both thought it wasn’t a tick bite and said if it turned angry or I felt unwell to see GP. Think I’ll book an appointment in case because it will be 2 weeks until I get be seen anyway! Thanks again 😀

I would go to your local minor injuries centre and get this looked at ASAP. Do not leave this any longer than you have to. If this is a tick bite (and they do not always present with a bulls eye rash) then early treatment is vital and should be started ASAP.

Thanks, are either roof you medically trained?I think the arch is a bruise. It's turning yellow and is slightly tender. I can't find any tick bites that look like mine. Also the pharmacist said the tick is usually still in and the rash is quite red and angry. It may or may not be related to the bite which they thought was a mosquito bite. It happened in bed so that fits. My dog often bruises me with her paws when she jumps up on me on the sofa.
I will keep my eye on it and ring GP on Monday. Thanks for your help.

The bullseye from a tick usually appears 10-14 days after the tick is removed, my son had it and had to have massive doses of antibiotics. Yours looks more like a bruise to me. I'll see if I can find the picture and attach it

The tick was just above his earlobe

Thanks Butter that looks like the typical rash. I'm 99% sure it's a bruise. just the proximity to the bite made me wonder. There is no heat or redness. Hope your son was ok.

I'd go. It does look a bit like the bull eye rash. The potential consequences of not treating immediately can be severed. It's not worth leaving to chance. Lyme disease is easy to treat with antibiotics early on, it becomes almost impossible after a few months.

Just to update . The bruise is almost gone, no rash and bite faded lots so think I’m ok. Thanks for your help.
