Does my baby have a cold sore?!

Panicking! My LG is four months old and has woken up with this mark on her lip.

I suspect she may be teething as her cheeks are quite red and she was quite unsettled last night. She’s also chewing on everything and drooling like a tap! But I’ve only just noticed this mark on her lip.

Neither me nor my partner have any cold sores and we don’t let people kiss her on the face or hands, so I don’t know where she may have gotten it if it is a cold sore. She seems totally fine in herself, not ill or feverish.

Could be she was trying to chew her fingers and caught her lip with a nail?

That’s entirely possible. She is constantly trying to eat her hands!

Cutie! Keep an eye on it or pop to a pharmacist

Babies don't get a baby sized cold sore so if she had one it would be adult sized just on a Baby IYSWIM

Thanks all! On closer inspection it does look more like a cut rather than a spot/cold sore.

Usually when they catch herpes they are very unwell lots of soreness in mouth, throat etc, sores and so on only after that initial time do they develop cold sores.

She is beautiful OP! Agree with a PP - keep an eye on it and if it gets any bigger or anything get her checked.

Don't know about the coldsore but she is bloody gorgeous
