Hearing aid users? Advice

I've had my hearing aids about two years now and whilst they're life changing I'm noticing every few weeks I have sore spots in my ears... does anyone have any advice?

Do you have earmoulds or open fit aids? If earmoulds, try cleaning them, drying your ears before use with a cotton bud, and failing that, ask for new earmoulds - your ears may have changed shape. If there's an obvious bit sticking out you can try filing it down yourself.
I find the softer modern moulds give me a rash but the old-fashioned hard moulds are fine. The NHS seem to want to use the softer ones, probably as they are more forgiving when made by a less-skilled person.

Also if you don't push them in so they are in the perfect position they can rub - again, the mould-makers don't like hooking round the top parts of ears nowadays so it's easier to have the mould rotated a bit and not fitting quite right.

Thank you ... they're open fit ones. They're really comfy most of the time but I get these sores every so often just wondered if there was anything I could do to prevent it
