For the past few weeks my eye(well just slightly under it) keeps twitching. Its now beginning to drive me mad.

Does anyone know what causes it and more important how to stop the flippin' thing!

tiredness causes it. Sleep cures it!!!!!

Slubberdegullion · 29/07/2007 17:10

Blepharospasm. think that's the right spelling. Primary cause: tiredeness.

Rx: Early nights. Turn off MN

MrsBadger · 29/07/2007 17:12

yep, more sleep, but in the meantime try a large drink...

pinkbubble · 29/07/2007 17:14

Just plain old tiredness!! That does surprise me. Even after I have had 40 winks it can still happen. Oh well as long as its nothing serious I shan't worry. Hopefully should manage to catch extra zzzzzzz this week as 2 of my DDs are at Brownie Camp and so Im only left with 1 DD of 13

Get some more sleep. I get this when I am very tired/stressed. Nice warm bath and an early night

Ive had this on and off for a few years now.For me i really think its more of a nervous tic. I can have plently of sleep but still its there. I def. only get it when im worried, tense or stressed about something.
Haven`t had it for a while at the mo, but when i do its there on and off for a couple of weeks.Sometimes the twitching will literally stick-in the twitched position ifykwim !

Well I'm certainly stressed at the moment, I did try and have an early night last night but today its been going mad..

I did wonder if it had to anything to do with me needing my eyes retested, as last Summer the opticians found that my eyes were not working together and so they put a prism in my glasses.

Maybe I will pop along to the opticians and just have a routine eye check.

i get this when stressed

FrayedKnot · 30/07/2007 22:48

I have this atm and often get it - it lasts for days

I get 8-9 hours a night

I think less MN might be the answer for me

cadelaide · 30/07/2007 22:48

Go to bed.

Now.

Nighty night.

BBBee · 30/07/2007 22:48

btw if you look in the mirror when it is happening it looks like nothing (just incase you were worried that the window cleaner was thinking you were giving him the old come hither..)

Jenkeylovesdazzy · 30/07/2007 22:49

I've always had it when I've more stressed than usual - it is a total pain isn't it? I hope this passes quickly for you. Mine has always gone away after a week or two at most. haven't had it for ages actually, since I stopped teaching - now there's a co-incidence!

pinkbubble · 30/07/2007 22:51

I can actually see mine happening, but next time I will do it in the bathroom just incase the window cleaner is around!!!(we have no windows in the bathroom!)

LOL
