Infected piercing

I am fairly sure one of my ear piercings is infected ( it is a forward helix piercing) I have had it for almost 2 years so not new but changed the stud about a month ago. The stud was a comfortable fit (bit of space for movement) but since yesterday it is completely swollen. It is so painful that my face hurts, it hurts to wear my glasses and when I asked my daughter to remove the stud she barely touched it and I nearly kicked her. My question is what can I do in the very short term till I can get to the docs? I have put tcp on it, taken ibuprofen, antihistamine (can you tell I am trying anything) but it is killing me. I couldn't sleep last night but was away with work today so couldn't go to the doctors. Help!!! Any advice welcome, I will try anything

Boiled water with loads of salt dissolved in it - used cotton wool and clean it with the solution as hot as you can bare it! Ibuprofen and paracetamol alternate every 2 hours. Can you put a plaster on it to try to draw out the infection?

Yes to the salt water. Sea salt and boiled water
If you can then use a container or bowl and soak your ear in it (I've used a shot glass before!)

Good quality sea salt in cool boiled water poured over it from a jug. We also bought this for DD;s helix when it went yucky and it cleared up beautifully.

I would film it if I thought that it would be anything other than me screaming! It doesn't look like there is any pus in it either sorry!
