Does anyone know much about dodgy moles? I've got a mole that I'm pretty sure is dodgy... quietly trying not to freak out...

Have had itchy patch on thigh for several weeks/months, and last night it was driving me demented and because I was in a nightshirt bothered to look at it. Small mole, red/pearly/shiny rather than black, but surrounded by other little bubbles .. my DF has been dealing with skin CA for a number of years, but his are all of the big and scary looking type. I just have this feeling that I've seen something like this on a GP poster .... ?
Anyone know about anything that might help me back down from my impending freakout, or at least some sensible suggestions on how long these take to get seen etc etc??

Am at work, and have access to internet but don't want to frighten myself

just ge yourself to your GP and they will refer you to a skin person.

A friend of mine discovered this a few weeks ago - she had it checked out and removed alll fairly quickly

jackaroo, has it grown? one thing you could do is take a picture today and measure it, then do the same in a week/fortnight etc and see if there are any changes.
but no harm in going ot the GP

Mm, it wasn't there 3-4 weeks ago, so it's really just popped up. It's only about 4-5mm in dia.
OK, so I couldn't resist, I've had a look and I'm pretty sure it's a basal cell carcinoma, now I'm going to find out what that means.....

OK, so not life threatening - phew!! Thanks for the help, and actually just being there, makes a huge difference.
Will go to the doctor on Monday........

Thanks MellowMa - it's not impetigo - unfortunately I know what that looks like - the bubbles are just smaller versions of the bigger pearly lump at a slight distance to this central lump... but yes, I should know from my dad that these things can be completely sorted (in his case, over and over again!).

Oh, OK, that's kind of you... might stop me worrying DH with it if I'm someone else to off load to!
