Just picked my baby (DS 6mths) up from CM and he has bright red face and forehead, she thinks he has had an allergic reaction to a brand of wipes she has started using ...but my eldest has red cheeks too and said they had all been out in garden today ( surprisingly we have actually had a sunny day!)..am now starting to think its sunburn and am V angry ...is there an easy way to tell the difference, before I do lots of shouting?

If its an allergic reaction then it would usually be red with raised white spots like a nettle rash. This is called urticaria. Usually with an allergic reaction you get the urticarial rash, however when my ds8 has had an reation to wet wipes or the hot or cold weather he has sometimes had a red face (without the rash) but usually his face will swell up too. COuld just be the sun thouhg. I have 1 ds8 who is allergic to lots of things & has a severe allergy to peanuts. My youngest ds3 has exactly the same very red face when he comes in to contact with sand. I did not know what had caused it the first time & then when it happened 3 or 4 times I realsied he is allergic to sand but he does not get a hive rash with it like you would usually with allergic reactions.
