Eye poke!

DS accidentally poked me in the eye this morning. It's not the first time I've ever been poked in the eye but this took my breath away and make me feel a bit nauseous.

It's now 4 hours later and it's still painful. The pain subsides and then comes back.

I've rinsed it with saline and I'm not rubbing it.

Is this fairly normal for an eye poke? Who do you call for advise? Optician/GP?

If it were me I'd go to my A&E with it. If it's a scratch on the cornea it can be really really sore and slow to heal, keep getting re-irritated for years, if not treated properly.
My sympathies. I scratched my cornea once. It's awful. You can't think of anything except the pain when it comes back.

You could ring an Optician's locally first for advice.

Went to the pharmacy for advice and they advised A&E.

Settling in for a 3 hour wait in severe pain with a preschooler and a toddler! Woop
