Hi there,

This is not a nice topic, and I'm unsure. My son is 3 1/2 years old. He has always been great with number 2. Twice a day, good shape and all that. He is currently in nappies even though we are trying to potty train him.
Since around a month and a half ago, he started having lightly soiled nappies and his dirty nappies became infrequent. So for example, in a week, he had 2 large stools (not hard at all, softer than play dough), and then he is constantly having lightly soiled. Even when I change his nappy and I'm cleaning his bum, it keeps coming out really small thin amount. Quite mushy and small.

I had to stop bathing him because once he is in there, it comes out. Even now that I always shower him, stools come out. Now, he is not putting pressure, in fact, he doesn't realises. he only does when it's already out because he feels it against his skin and also it's sore. Imagine that i've been changing 5 nappies in less than 2 hours. I'm adding loads and loads of cream so that it doesn't hurt his skin.

I just have a doctor's appointment in 4 weeks as there is no availability before that but I'm now even unsure on what to feed him. At the beginning, I thought he was constipated but when he does the big poo is not hard at all or craked, on the contrary, so I was giving him more fibre which I don't know if it's worse now.

In general, he eats quite well. He eats fruits and not all veggies but he does. He doesn't eat pasta.

Does this happen to anybody? I'm worry about what to feed him. Today he had a lot of lightsly soiled nappy and I'm not sure if it was because he had too much fibre (weetabix, yogurt, cereal high in fibre, beans, )

So I have a month to wait and i'm worried about what I feed him now because I don't want to make it worse.

Anyone with a similar situation?

Thanks

Gabriela
