Root canal - is this normal?

Hi
DH had a root canal on Thursday. Yesterday the bottom of his cheek started to swell. Was worse this morning.
He says the tooth doesnt hurt but his cheek hurts.
It hasn't got any worse as the day has gone on and he does have an appointment tomorrow morning (after calling 111).
Is this normal?

No, I had a root canal on my front tooth & just near my nose & cheek became swollen & felt bruised. The tooth felt fine.

It was an abscess & I needed antibiotics.
