A question for those of you with the Mirena Coil fitted....

(warning, possibley TMI) I've had one fitted for almost two years now. The last two weeks I have had very light bleeding (brown and occasionally pink) but not red period type blood. Has anyone else had this? It's weird. I had it a bit when I first had it fitted but not since then....anybody know what might be going on? Oh and I'm very hormonal so I've been thinking for two weeks my period was due but is a no show...do you think this is it for this month?

i have one, fitted 2 years ago. it hasn't fully stopped my periods and it can be unpredictable. usually all i have is a tiny amount of spotting, but i will occasionally, say once every 4 months have quite a big bleed.

Have had mine in since February this year and it stopped my periods, except for the brown stuff you describe straight away.
now i appear to have prolonged brown discharge rather then a regular period, and it can be every two weeks then nothing for a month?

Hmm. Well I'm still in the dark! I think I'll give it until monday and then maybe ring the nurse. Flamin' contraception, when will they invent a decent one with no side effects?!

I spot for a few days on and off. Can go months with noithing at all then have a couple fo months, even fortnightly , in succession.
