Early waking insomnia - help!!

It doesn’t matter how tired I am or how late I go to bed, I wake up early; one or two hours before my alarm is due to go off. I am utterly exhausted, and if anyone has experienced this and conquered it PLEASE tell me how?!

I don’t think I’m majorly stressed, no big life events going on.
Light wakes me, so I have blackout curtains and blindfolds for morning.
Calming music helps me to sleep at bedtime, but waking early and putting this on doesn’t seem to have the same effect.
My bed and pillow is comfy, so I don’t think it’s that.
I’ve tried meditation but am terrible at clearing my mind - i’m always thinking about something (to do list, shopping, kids, etc) so maybe that’s the issue.

I just don’t know how to sleep all the way through, and I’m exhausted! Please help if anyone has experience of this!!

No advice op but I'm the same.

When I experienced this I started to go asleep a couple of hours earlier (almost with the children) and then I found I wasn't stressed waking earlier and I simply got up and did the washing, food prep etc then.

I then started to test going to bed half an hour later to see if I could wake later. Ultimately, I only clawed back 30-60 minutes so now I am asleep by 10, up by 6.

How old are you out of interest? I found this happening around menopause although to be fair I had always been more of s 'morning person. I routinely wake at 5 these days. I did exactly what pp said and found it didn't matter what time I went to bed. I go earlier now, and find I sleep more soundly. I just make coffee, plug into an audiobook and celebrate how much I can get done!

Oh God! So I’ve just got to go with it and use the time productively?! Sad

@Kilash I’m 32, so definitely not menopausal, although I did a bit of googling yesterday and found its very linked to menopause....when I do get there I’ll be screwed!

It's just habit , more than anything. And definitely habit in the absence of anything else you can pinpoint. When you wake, do your best to not pick up your phone or get up etc and see if you can train yourself back to sleep - eventually

I'm just the same but I have a health problem (cancer) so as soon as I wake, My mind goes into overdrive thinking of different scenarios and what not 😢
It makes the days sooooo long x
