What is this? Maybe tmi

Hi I've name changed because this is slightly embarrassing.
For context my period is usually regular as clockwork 29 days on the button. This time however I had a fairly normal period and then 12 days later I had another heavier one. I'm 35 so not sure if that's relevant.
This is really unusual for me but as the period wasn't really heavy or painful I just carried on as normal.
Last night I showered and my period was ending so I just put a light pad on went to bed. This morning on getting up I felt that familiar gushing sensation and thought oh it's not over but when I went to the bathroom the pad was filled with a clear liquid that was not pee ..sorry for the tmi but it smelled like normal period blood but it was clear!
I've had a google search and nothing really describes what it was. Just wondering if this is normal or anyone knows what it was. It's still happening, feels like a period but it's clear.

Also I'm not on any kind of contraception, not sure if that's relevant either.

Are you still passing this fluid?
I don't have a clue what it would be but I'd be calling 111 if I were you (that's the NHS number, right?)

Thanks for replying and yes it's still happening, I can feel it trickling away I guess for want of a better word. It feels like my period but when I wipe it's clear or very lightly pink tinged but I don't know if I'm imagining that.

Hmmm. It could just be super-fresh (as opposed to old, so more browny-coloured) light period passing/vaginal secretions, but I agree with a previous poster and would call 111 to check what they think.

Any way you could be pregnant and this is some waters leaking? Or have an infection, do you have any other symptoms?

newmomof1 · 24/06/2019 09:24

I was thinking the same as @EvilHerbivore - no way you could be pregnant?

bigbeans · 24/06/2019 09:45

Have to say what the evil herbivore said was my first thought too

Jellybean100 · 24/06/2019 09:48

Could you be pregnant?

loserssaywhat · 24/06/2019 10:03

I don't think I'm pregnant, I had a normal period just before this one. No other signs of an infection but I'm thinking it's worth a trip to my gp!

I would definitely see GP and do a pregnancy test... amniotic fluid smells like period blood. And some people continue to have normal periods all the way through

bigbeans · 24/06/2019 19:07

Are you okay Op?

loserssaywhat · 27/06/2019 10:57

Sorry for the late reply things have been hectic with work etc
I'm well however my period is still here 9 days later.
The strange leakage has stopped but it's fresh blood. I'm due to see my gp in the morning.
I know 9 days isn't that unusual for some women but it's not normal for me.
I'll just put my mind at rest!
Thank you all for your comments.
