Ear leaking fluid

Geekster1963 · 23/06/2019 23:50

One of my ears started leaking clear fluid last week. It's at its worst when I wake up in the morning. It feels really blocked and my hearing has got bad in that ear. It's not painful or smelly. Is there anything I can do to ease it?

Definitely see a gp!

Clear fluid leaking from the ear is potentially a medical emergency. Get yourself seen by a professional asap.

It's probably not completely clear as where it's leaked onto my pillowcase and crusted on my ear it's more yellow looking.

Doctors. Might be brain juice!!!

Geekster1963 · 24/06/2019 00:18

Ok, will see my GP.

More likely ear infection than brain juice! But yes, see GP!

It wasn’t quite as leaky last night but I’m really deaf in that ear. It’s strange as it doesn't hurt anywhere. No earache or headache.

Have you made an appointment yet, OP?

Starlight456 · 24/06/2019 22:01

I had this wentnon for months as I didn’t go to gp as it wasn’t painful .

I did eventually and got antibiotics which cleared it

I had all of those symptoms when my ear drum perforated. You should see a GP. If your ear drum is perforated then you'll need an operation to patch it up.

I'm going to go tomorrow as my eczema is bad too.

I've got an appointment with the nurse this afternoon.

How did it go OP?

Geekster1963 · 25/06/2019 17:33

Just got back, I’ve got a ruptured ear drum. It’s only small and should get better on it’s own. Just be deaf for a while.

Glad you went. It could have been something worse.
