Urology Appointment what happens?

I have an appointment due to urine retention spotted on ultrasound. I have had no pre appointment instructions so I wonder will they do anything to me or just talk to me? I have had many gynaecology appointments but have never seen a urologist.

I would say probably chat to you. Agree what investigations they are going to do. Take a urine sample and possibly a bladder scan based on what happened to me

I have had retention on and off since 2010 at age 18-19, pm me if you want a chat . I had to have a cystoscopy and dilitstion of my urethra in 2011 , I’ve been waiting on another for three years , self catheterise in the meantime . First appointment they didn’t do much beyond examining me down below (showed that I have a too small and misplaced urethra), and got me to pee onto a commode (in privacy) that measured flow rate and amount etc . I also had to do a chart before of everything I drunk , and every time I peed , which showed I wasn’t peeing enough .

I still don’t have a diagnosis although they suspect it’s fowlers or interstitial cystitis I think .

But honestly feel free to PM me , and google as well as there’s a lot of us Flowers
