Where has migraleve pink gone?!!

I'm 39 and was diagnosed with migraines by a neurologist about 20 years ago. One of the more troubling symptoms of my migraines is dizziness and feeling off balance.

By watching my lifestyle I can reduce the number I have, but I go through periods where I get no migraines and then times when they ramp up. I've started a new job recently and they're playing up.

I've always managed to get by using migraleve pink but now I can't find them anywhere! Had anyone got any ideas of other medications, or should I go and ask my GP about preventative medications? Thanks

You should be able to get an equivalent from the GP otherwise there are other things the pharmacy may be able to recommend.

Just found this article, seems like one of the ingredients, buclizine, could be the issue.

Pain relief wise co-codamol should do the same job as migraleve contains paracetamol and codeine, just as co-codamol does. However, if you need nausea relief you'll still need something- buclizine hydrochloride is the 'active ingredient' in migraleve pink, but I don't think you can get that over the counter. You'd need to ask your pharmacist what they would recommend, or see your GP and ask them to prescribe something.

Hope that helps a bit.

Oh I know!! It’s been gone for over a year now. On the website it says it should be back after it’s been through checks, god knows when though.
I personally don’t want a substitute as nothing works like Migraleve Pink. The only suggestion that’s worth a try and has definitely took the edge off mine, if taken early enough, is 2 yellows with full fat Cola.
Someone on mumsnet recommended it yonks ago. Worth a try Smile

So I've been to pharmacy, no migraleve pink or yellow in stock. Apparently the company can't currently manufacture or get hold of the magic anti nausea ingredient.

But he did sell me some cocodamol and buccastem so I'll try that.

I take ibuprofen with a coffee/ice cold coke/ice cold red bull
If that doesn't work I take co-codomol or co-dydramol with buccastem or phenergan.

I am hoping to get a Sumatriptan nasal spray though as they seem to be escalating. Migraleve Pink used to work wonders though. What a shame! I was thinking of getting some because I'm sick of having to take so many different things especially as I get confused with my migraines sometimes.

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone interested...Migraleve Pink are back!!! I’ve managed to get a pack of pink and yellow from Lloyds Pharmacy online.
The official Migraleve site has links where to get them from.

@augustusglupe Thank you thank you thank you!! I've just placed an online order for a box of pink & yellow tablets. I've been having more migraines than ever before (stress) and I'd given up on ever seeing Migraleve again. Cheers for the heads up Star
