Hi all,

My 18 y/o DS has had the blessing of being able to eat loads all his life and not gain weight but I've noticed recently that his stomach appears to be bigger.

He does get his 5 a day and gets balanced meals and does drink water etc and doesn't really tend to drink that much soft drinks and when he does they're diet soft drinks and not full sugar drinks. He just seems to eat all my biscuits and can sometimes stuff himself buns, chocolates, cakes and crisps etc.

He has a sweet tooth.

Anyway, he measured himself tonight and the scale says he is 10 stone and 4.75 lbs. is that fat/overweight ?

Thanks

No one here can tell you. How tall is he? Work out his BMI.

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/06/2019 21:39

Who knows, but at 18 surely it's up to him?

titchy · 03/06/2019 21:41

If he's 5'1 yes. If he's 6'11 no.

@SpunBodgeSquarepants @titchy

I don't know his exact height and we have no way of measuring it but I'll go by this,

When he stood beside our 6ft Christmas tree at Christmas time, the very top of his head was just ever so close to touching the top of the tree where the star was, so he is just slightly below 6ft which I know isn't very accurate

My DS is 17, 6’1 and weighs 10st. He’s a skinny thing so I don’t think 10st 4 would be overweight for someone just under 6 foot.

Teddybear45 · 03/06/2019 22:16

He’s skinny fat, not overweight. He needs to get to the gym to lift weights and tone up. Ironically he probably needs to eat more calories.

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 03/06/2019 22:20

10st 4lbs cannot on any planet be overweight for a 5ft 10in bloke.

fishonabicycle · 17/06/2019 11:27

My son is a shade under 6 foot and is slim - weighs 11stone.

Quartz2208 · 17/06/2019 13:44

at that height no but he is incredibly unhealthy
