DD is nearly 5, she has been steadily coming out in spots for about 4 days (red, no obvious 'head' on). They started on her legs and I originally thought that they were flea bites from our cat (although I don't think he has fleas and none of the rest of the family - me, dh and 2 ds's have been bitten). Then I thought that maybe they were chicken pox as she hasn't had them yet, but I'm told that they start on the torso/trunk. She isn't mega itchy and complaining about them, nor does she have a temp. I'm a bit baffled.

Hopefully I can get her to the doc tomorrow. I'm just a bit concerned that we're off to Portugal on saturday...

Could it be chicken pox ? How long do the spots take to 'come out' ? What else might it be ?

Ds is just getting over chicken pox and they started on his bum!

DiagonAllieBongo · 22/07/2007 17:58

usually as soon as one or two come, the rest follow quite quickly. they are like blisters sometimes, or quite red and angry

DD's are red and they do look angry but she's not scratching at them.

She had 3 or so on her leg and they've multiplied to about 15 spread over her bum and legs in the last 3 or 4 days.

They look more spot-like than blister-like

I've had a look on NHS direct and I don't think they are chicken pox. NHS direct says that they turn to blisters within a matter of hours but DD's have been 'spots' for days.

Have you changed washing powder? I did recently and dd came out in red angry rash on bits of body where clothes washed in new stuff were.

molluscum perhaps, that haven't come to a big white head yet?
