Multidisciplinary meeting? Is this bad?

Hi, so I just need a bit of a hand hold. I had a growth removed from my bladder 2 weeks ago and called the hospital today to see if my results are in, she said yes but she isn’t qualified to give them to me and they’re being discussed in a multidisciplinary meeting tomorrow. I know what the meeting is but are only bad things discussed in these meetings or is there still a chance this thing is benign? I’ve been strong as I can up until now but for some reason this has just broke me and I’m feeling so low right now

OP, we're sorry for any concern this is causing. We're just giving your thread a bump for you. Flowers

My mother has a growth in her bladder which was picked up accidentally during a scan for something else, as she has no symptoms arising from it. We have had around a week's wait for a multi-disciplinary meeting, and were told that this was because they could see that it didn't need urgent attention. My understanding is that the multi-disciplinary meeting is to discuss their findings, because if they were sure it was cancer they would have got back to us before - which sounds as if there is a reasonable chance it may not be. Sorry I can't say anything more knowledgeable than that.

I hope the results for you are good, Widget.

When I had an ultrasound for a breast lump, I was told at the time that all was fine. Yet when I got tge letter a couple of weeks ago, it said it had gone to the mdt which agreed all was fine.

I think it's common for all suspected cancer case to be discussed at mdt whatever the outcome. Crossing my fingers for you.

I would think they would be meeting to discuss what the next steps may be. I hope you get your results soon x

Mdt meeting is just for everyone involved to discuss and make sure they’re on the same page. Try not to worry

We often discuss borderline benign stuff, and sometimes benign but unclear how to treat or follow up stuff.
