I need to get 2 crowns and a root canal treatment done. Can anyone advise me on whether or not to go to Budapest to get this done or any good experiences or names of reputable dental clinics that they may have visited there? Thanks

Is cost stopping you doing it here?

Yes cost is a huge factor-am saving for a house so am being strict with my money. Theres a difference of about 600 quid between going abroad or getting it done here-I need a holiday anyway so cost of flights, accom etc doesnt bother me

No personal experience of dental work abroad, but I would be concerned about access to aftercare in the event something went wrong. I had root canal and crown done last year and while it was cripplingly expensive (private endodontist who I was referred to by my own dentist) to the point I actually borrowed money from my mum for the treatment, I knew he was just up the road if there were any problems.

The timings might also be a factor to consider. My root canal was on a molar, so I had two appointments of almost two hours each, a fortnight apart, a follow-up appointment a month later to check all was well, then the crown was two appointments with my own dentist, again, a fortnight apart. I started the treatment in January, and I think it was about May until it was fully completed. (I also had a consultation with the root canal specialist for x-rays and to discuss the treatment before it started, that was at the end of December.)
