Lump on foot - cyst??

Has anyone had a firm lump appear on the top of the foot below the ankle? I’m awaiting a scan....can ganglion cysts feel hard?

We're just giving this a bump for you, OP. We'd always recommend getting this sort of thing checked out by your GP.

I've had one on my heel for over 10 years. No pain at all usually but every now and then it 's painful to walk on. I've always assumed it's 'Haglunds'.
Should get it checked really

Thanks - it is definitely a large lump on the top of the foot - I’ve been to the go hence why I’m waiting a month for a scan!

I know this is an old ish thread but I have a smaller bump in a similar place that feels hard and was told it was the start of a ganglion. Haven’t been referred for a scan or X-ray as the doctor could make it move (I thought it was just the tendon moving but apparently not). My previous ganglions on the wrist haven’t been hard but apparently they sometimes can be.
Did you get yours sorted in the end @Newname9

No I have a scan booked at the end of the month - it does feel quite hard but I can sort of move it side to side...

Is it by a tendon? Ganglions usually pop up by a tendon. Mine kind of moves too I think it feels harder because of where it is on the foot if that makes sense

Oh that’s interesting - yours is hard too?
I’ve got a bit of an achey foot today after wearing lace ups so wondered if that’s angered it in some way!

Yes it was a ganglion cyst and it’s still there as I haven’t got around to asking if I can have it removed.....

Sorry exuse my dry heel. I have this small lump on my foot. It’s been there for a while but it’s just started to hurt. It’s very hard and doesn’t feel like it moves. Just wondering if anyone knows what it is? Thanks

Hi! What was that bump? My 4 yo child has the same, it is very hard, like the bone, we are waiting for the ultrasound. Please answer. 🙂
