Which arm trace?

And did they do any tests in hospital to confirm the reflux?

Bubbaloo · 20/07/2007 22:27

Have no idea what it could be but this happened to ds1 when he was about 5 weeks old and to ds2 a few weeks ago when he was 10 weeks old.Didn't last very long and with both of them it was actually their leg, rather than their arm. Both seem perfectly fine now.

ivykaty44 · 20/07/2007 22:33

You could ring NHS direct and get there advice on this

daisyandbabybootoo · 20/07/2007 22:40

trace, just noticed this.....not sure what it could be, but perhaps you should call the hospital again. it sounds like a circulatory thing which probably needs to be investigated.

This can't be easy for you hun . I hope you get some answers soon and that DD gets better.

The June girls were asking after you the other day. Take care of yourself

saggermakersknockturnalley · 21/07/2007 16:58

Are you in touch with her daisyboo?

Wondering if everything is ok.

trace2 · 22/07/2007 20:19

saggermakersknockturnalley no they didnt but did chest xray to rule out anything there and cos they didnt hear a murmer they said it was reflux, but ive heard they can test to see if its reflux, my dd as had more things wrong with her since she was born, we just dont know whats happing, but i guess we should think our selfs lucky, as not really found any thing major.

daisy thank you i try to lurk on june thread but still dont feel like posting as we dont really know whats what yet

trace, blimey your going through the mill.

i told you about my dd before..to add to it she kept going blue on all her limbs. she still gets blue legs from time to time and it definatly only happens when shes having reflux. they worry the life out of you dont they. whats happening with regards to her meds? what is she on now?

saggermakersknockturnalley · 22/07/2007 20:28

trace2 - I'm torn here between worrying you to death and saying nothing but I've read a couple of your posts and it rings alarm bells with me. Under normal circumstances a blue arm wouldn't worry me but as she's not been well I think it's worth mentioning again.

My dd has a significant heart problem and didn't have a murmur initially. She was in hospital repeatedly for UTIs, possible reflux, anaemia, poorfeeding, lack of weight gain etc. prior to diagnosis.

trace2 · 22/07/2007 20:48

elesbells they was going to put her on some thing what strats with d, but after they found out about her kidney infection they wanted to sort that out first. we have an other app with peads soon about reflux.

saggermakersknockturnalley dont worry about worring me i already am, i know theres some thing but just dont now what, shes not really ill just things not right, if you know what i mean, but shes put weight on, my mw still phones me to see how she is cos of every thing thats happened and says she trusts my instinks that some things not right. hows your dd now and how old??

OP posts:
elesbells · 22/07/2007 20:54

was it domperidone? thats a good med once her kidney problem is sorted. have they given her a heart echo?

saggermakersknockturnalley · 22/07/2007 20:55

dd is 13 now trace. She's had some surgery but isn't fixed. Does pretty well though She's on my profile.

Has dd been on a SATs monitor - I'm assuming she probably has? Maybe worth asking for an ECG at the very least - cheap and painless. And some murmurs don't appear until after the foetal circulation has completely resolved so have them check again.

Dd did have reflux - was on domperidone and ranitidine and on prophylactic anti-bs too for the kidney stuff.

I hope your dd perks up very soon.

elesbells · 22/07/2007 20:58

saggermakersknockturnalley your dd is gorgeous

trace2 · 22/07/2007 21:01

yes it was domperidone she did have an ecg but she screaned all way through so was told no good i think they got a sec thats all, and shes on low dose anti which is trimethoprim untill they say sh can come off.

so did your dd have kidney trouble too? your dd is gorgeous

saggermakersknockturnalley · 22/07/2007 21:09

Thank you.

She had repeated kidney infections. All the scans were clear. They decided that it was partly due to her iffy blood pressure and partly due to general poor immunity to infection. She's pretty much grown out of it now.

Has the arm thing happened again since Friday?

trace2 · 22/07/2007 21:20

i keep saying rthey have no idea whats happing, and no but its not the first time it happened and we have now been saying dd as become very mottled too and one of the peads noticed too last week, we have seen a number of peads none knowing whats up and they all keep saying chloe is baffeling them all, because she dont seam too ill but all these things are happing, and its always been that some one else as seen whats happing to her like going blue, 2 other saw her go blue and her arm i was with some one again+

saggermakersknockturnalley · 22/07/2007 21:26

I think you should ask them for an Echo (heart ultrasound) trace. If nothing else it means you can cross that prticular worry off your (and the paeds) list.

Keep us posted.

trace2 · 22/07/2007 21:31

i will thank you for all your help,

am going to get some sleep now as dd only goes two hours every feed
