URGENT HELP REQUIRED R.E. YELLOW FEVER VACCINE

Background - DP been offered a provisional position in the Navy pending various checks and forms etc.

One of the conditions was to get numerous vaccinations, including yellow fever.

He got the yellow fever prescription from the GP, collected it from the Pharmacy, the doctors surgery administered the vaccine (amongst others).

He requested his yellow fever vaccination booklet (yellow book thing) they said they didn't issue them and didn't know what they were.

The Navy will not sent him a full offer and my withdraw his current conditional offer if he doesn't get this booklet to them by the end of this week.

He went to a private clinic today who have discovered that the GP surgery is not registered to give the yellow fever vaccination which is a whole issue within itself.

HE NEEDS THIS BOOK BY FRIDAY. Does anybody know what can be done?! Can he get the vaccine privately again?! Will that kill him?! Can somebody else complete the book for him even though they didn't give the vaccine?!

Can he also check whether the pharmacy he got it from also got the yellow booklet as that webpage suggests they are sent with the vaccine doses

So the clinic he was at today (to get another vaccine) said she wouldn't be able to issue a certificate as the vaccine was administered illegally?!

No healthcare practitioner in the uk that values their registration will give you a yellow fever vaccination certificate without having actually given you the vaccine. A

Just last week and his enrollment date is the 8th of June so only 2 weeks away

Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as just obtaining a certificate OP. There are really strict regulations around who can give the YF vaccine and the clinic must be a registered YF centre with their own practice code. The certificate must be signed by the person who has administered the vaccine- this signature confirms that a risk assessment has been undertaken prior to administering, the benefits outweigh the risks to vaccination (as it's a live vaccine it shouldn't be given in some instances), also that the vaccine has been checked as within date and subject to the cold chain conditions. The person administering must also have been trained and passed as competent by an authorised individual on behalf of Nathnac. No YF centre worth their salt will provide a certificate for a vaccine they have not risk assessed the patient's suitability to have, much less can't be assured the vaccine was stored correctly. I'm not sure exactly what you CAN do in this case I'm afraid, as it would also be contraindicated to revaccinate so soon. Sorry OP. I would suggest creating merry hell at the surgery and the pharmacy who shouldn't have supplied in this way either

Shit shit shit shit. So much work has gone into this and he's done EVERYTHING else for his enrollment date. I can't believe after a year long application process they might rescind his offer because the GP has seriously fucked up
